1st time to California

The moment Nathan was born in 2004 I knew I wanted to take him to California one day. I wanted to take him to Disneyland, Sea World and the beach. Then in 2007 when Ian was born I wanted to take that trip more than ever. Unfortunately, we were never able to do that while I was married. Now that I am free to make my own decisions I decided that it was time to make the 1st annual trip to Cali! With the wonderful help of friends we spent a week in San Diego and went to, Sea World, LegoLand and the beach.

Nathan LOVED the beach. He would have played in the ocean and in the sand the entire time if it was possible! Seeing him having so much fun and say, "This is awesome" many times was fantastic and made my heart smile. Ian on the other hand, he HATED the sand. He liked the water and the waves but did not want anything to do with the sand. I am sure this he will out grow this, hopefully, by the time we go again.

LegoLand was great. It had rides that both the boys could ride and seeing all the stuff made out of Legos was cool. I did discover that the boys LOVE rollercoasters. Nate's favorite one was called Project X.

I have to say, I loved Sea World. I think Ian liked it more than Legoland. He would have stayed and looked at all the animals forever. At the shows he got a little antsy but Nate liked the shows and he loved getting wet. He went on the Raging Rapids ride twice and got soaked both time. Then we went on the Journey to Atlantis ride and he got soaked. Then he stood by the side of that ride and got soaked two or three more times. He NEVER once complained about being wet. The boys were able to feed some seals. We saw the dolphin show, shamu show, sea lion and walrus show and the pet show. I think the only thing we didn't get to was the penguins. All in all it was a great time.

We also went fresh strawberry picking. That was very neat. Our second trip to the beach was the day before Ian's b-day so we went to Seal Beach and watched the seals for a while and then celebrated Ian's 3rd b-day with a cake. It was wonderful.

I am so glad that they now have this memory of their childhood and I hope I can make many more memories with them. Here are some photos from the trip.

New House

Well, the boys and I are now officially living in a new place. They have adapted well and seem to like it here. It is much smaller than the other house and it is a challenge to find places for everything and there are times where I feel like we are on top of each other. Just another start to a new adventure for us.

Here are some pics of the house and the boys. Love to you all.

I was taking pics of the boys with my cell phone and found a cool feature. So, we took a few silly pics. Enjoy.

Everyday should be PJ day.

Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday and at Nathan's school they were allowed to wear their pajamas to school. Now, normally Nathan is impossible to wake up in the morning. It takes me at least 20-25 mins to wake him up. This morning he was so excited that he was up before I was. As I am waking up I hear Nate talking to Ian and saying, "Ian guess what? I get to wear my pajamas to school today! Isn't that cool?" This was by far the best morning we have had in a while. I am thinking that I should start a petition at his school and try to get "PJ" day at least twice a month. :)

To long...

October was the last time I posted anything and so much has been going on. We made it through the holidays with happy kids and that is all I ever wanted. For me, they were hard but I was lucky enough to have my mom, step-dad, Doug, my brother, Kory and my nephew Seth here to help us celebrate. It was great having them here. I do have to say that I am glad they are over and we are moving on into the new year.

Nathan is doing wonderful in school. He is reading, spelling and writing. He is also taking a science class after school on Thursday's. He is going to be my bookworm! He just had his 6th birthday. It is amazing to me to look at him and say he is 6. He is so funny and smart. Lately, he has been giving me little notes that say, I love mom or Ian and Nate love mom. The latest one was a note that said, I love you so much I can't breathe right now. That one brought me to tears. It is little things like this that make me realize that we are going to be ok.

Ian is growing up so fast. He is starting to talk a whole lot more and will do just about anything Nate does. Ian can make me angry one minute and then have me laughing the very next. He loves to dance and I do believe I have turned him into an official blockhead. He loves to listen to NKOTB just as much as I do and we will sit on the computer and watch videos for a while. What can I say??

As for me? Well, I am officially a single woman and it is taking a little get used to but ya know, I think I will be ok. I am looking forward to going back to school, getting a job, moving out of this house and just moving on. I am learning alot about myself. My boys are what keep me going and I will succeed because of them.

I will be posting some pics in the next day or two.

Love to you all.
